(ii) Correlation, its meaning and objects, Standard Geological time-scale. (iii) Physiographic divisions of Indian Peninsula, Extrapeninsula and Indo-Gangetic plain. (iv) Fundamental ideas regarding the following systems :- Archean, Cuddapah, Vindhyas, Gondwana, Deccan Traps. (v) Elementary ideas about the Geological formation of Madhya Pradesh. Units No. 3 PETROLOGY - 20 Marks (i) Definition and scope of Petrology. Zonal composition of earth. (ii) Classification of Rocks :- Distinguishing characters of Igneous, Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks. (iii) Basic ideas regarding the formation of Igneous,Sedimentary and Metamorphic rocks. (iv) Definition of Texture and structures. study of the following textures and structures. (a) Hypidiomorphic (b) Pophyritic (c) Ophitic (d) Current bedding (e) Ripple marks (f) Gneissose (g) Schistose. Unit No. 4 ECONOMIC GEOLOGY:- 19 Marks (i) Definition and scope of Economic Geology, Definition of ore and Gangue minerals. (ii) Preliminary ideas regarding different ore-formation processes-Magmertic, Hydrothermal, Mechanical. (iii) Geographical and Geological Distribution of the following economic deposits in India :- Coal, Petroleum, Iron, Manganese and Bauxite. (iv) Preliminary study of the following economic deposits of Madhya Pradesh. Coal, Iron, Manganese, Bauxite, Copper. (v) Megascopic characters of the following ore minerals. (a) Haemattie (b) Magnetic (c) Pyrolustic (c) Bauxite (d) Chalcopyrite (e) Galena (f) Chromite (g) Pyrite. Subject - GEOLOGY PRACTICAL Time 3 hrs. M.M. 25 1. (ii) Drawing and labelling of the following plant fossils = Glosopreris, Gangamopteris, Verteburaria. 2. PETROLOGY - Megascopic study of the following rock types:-Granite, Gabbro, Basalt, Dolomite, Sandstone, Shale, Limestone, Conglomerate, Gneiss, Schist and Marble. 3. FINE ART GROUP Subject- DRAWING & PAINTING M.M.100 A. Practical work only PAINTING- 80 - Any medium locally available in the region in any style Urban, Folk or Tribal on subjects related with- (i) Daily life. (ii) Nature with flora and fauna. (iii) Fantasy. (iv) National integration :- Religious, Cultural, Historical, Social events. (v) Games and Sports. In Uraban, Folk or Tribal style. B. Theory only- 20 History of Indian Art (Objective Questions only) Names of various styles of painting and sculptures in India with dates from primitive age till date, with special stress on art of Madhya Pradesh. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject- Arts and crafts M.M. 80 (i) Applied arts/Copying of the Master artists, Book-Illustration, Book-jackets, Cartoons, Poster-designing Advertising Designing and Lettering, College. -In monochrome of colour. OR (ii)Printing Techniques- Batik, Tie and Dye, Block Printing, with simple introductory methods and with traditional Blocks, Silk Screen, Stencils, Monoprints, Linocut, Woodcut, Leather work. -In monochrome and multi colour. OR (iii)Sculpture in relief and in round, modelling and cutting (Soap, Chalk, etc.) Simple moulding and casting methods in plaster, assemblage. -In workable sizes. SESSIONAL WORK- 20 Five selected qualifying studies in various mediums.
